Gates Are Where Fence Jobs Quietly Fail

Site assessment for swing and slide

The Gate Sequence
Assessment
We look at the opening, the grade, the traffic through it, and whether power is already nearby, then talk through swing versus slide honestly. A double swing gate needs arc clearance that a lot of Carmel driveways do not have, and a cantilever slide needs backrun space, so the site usually makes the decision for us. You get a written price separating gate, posts, hardware, operator, and electrical.
Build and set
Posts are set in oversized footings and given real cure time before anything hangs on them. The leaf is built to the measured opening, and if the gate is automated, the operator pad and conduit go in during the same dig so the driveway is only disturbed once.
Hang, wire, and tune
The gate is hung, shimmed, and adjusted; the operator is mounted, wired, and programmed; the safety loop or photo eye is installed and tested by obstructing the gate on purpose. We return after full cure for a final adjustment, and we do not leave until you have operated it yourself, including the manual release.

Almost every sagging gate in Hamilton County traces back to a gate post that was set like a line post. Ours are bigger, deeper, and wider, and they cost more in concrete for exactly that reason.
We come back after the cure
Concrete takes time to reach strength, and a gate adjusted the same day it was hung will drift. The post-cure return visit is scheduled as part of the job, not treated as a warranty call.
